Over 20 years ago, my dad published Conversations on the Dark Secrets of Physics.
My dad believed that in a democracy everyone could and should understand science so they could fully participate in the country’s policies. For years he taught Physics 10, aka Physics for Poets, at U.C. Berkeley. He also filmed a lecture series for high school students that was aired on the San Francisco TV station KPFA. Conversations is based on the notes from these lectures.
All these years later the book is still in print.
Wilson Talley and I helped my dad with the book, reading it, finding errors, and generally giving him a hard time. We had a running commentary, which ended up in the footnotes. Hence we got co-author status.
